Class-based exercise, with the individual attention necessary to achieve new levels of fitness, poses unique challenges. We meet those challenges with top-flight instructors and a beautiful, light-filled, "green" studio that provides a comfortable, yet intimate setting for small classes of 10 or less.
We welcome adult participants of all ages and abilities. Our classes include young adults and older adults 80+ years old.

What is Yoga?
Yoga is a 5000 year old Eastern energy-based practice developed in India. It is based on a system of moves to unlock energy flows while increasing flexibility and toning internal and external muscles. The benefits of Yoga are numerous and can include improved physical fitness, stress control, mental clarity, and general well-being. The physical postures enhance muscular strength, coordination, flexibility and agility. People of all ages can practice Yoga.
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a Western philosophy developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. He designed this restorative and conditioning technique to help people overcome injuries and postural misalignment and to improve general core weakness. While Joseph Pilates' traditional exercises were traditionally used for the training and rehabilitation of dancers with hyperextension injuries, these exercises are not all appropriate for today's everyday person who sits flexed for most of the day. Pilates matwork involves concentrated moves, requiring you to set a posture and then challenge the torso by moving the limbs in a repetitious manner.
What is Muay Thai Kickboxing and Self Defense (Martial Arts)?
Thai Kickboxing, aka Muay Thai, is a martial art form referred to as the
"Art of Eight Limbs" because it uses punch, kick, elbow and knee
strikes (8 "points" of contact) as opposed to Western Boxing (2 pts.)
and sport-oriented martial arts (4 pts). Martial arts based Self Defense can include standing, grappling and take down defenses based on "real life" situations. You can learn more about our martial arts program at FightWise at FitnessWise.
YOUR CLASSES
Yoga-Pilates Blend
A hybrid of the "best" of both disciplines, this class is a fusion of
flowing, focused, controlled yoga breathing, movement and stretching with the core
stabilization and strengthening of Pilates. Enjoy a series of exercises incorporating both Pilates matwork and Yoga poses, from warm-up to level-appropriate, challenging positions and poses and cooldown.
Stretch & Center Yoga
A practice aimed at flexiblity and the body's core strength and alignment, bringing the body and mind into optimal balance.
Yoga Flow
A fluid form of Vinyasa Yoga focusing on mindfulness and complete
integration of breath and movement, awareness and alignment, strength
and flexibility.
World Beat Yoga
A fluid form of Vinyasa Yoga -- a Yoga Flow -- focusing on mindfulness, movement,
strength and flexibility set to the positive energy of African, Latin and Reggae music.
Yoga 101
An introduction to the practice of Yoga, featuring breath work, basic
postures, body alignment, and the mind-body connection. For beginners,
it's the basics; for the more experienced, a return to the fundamentals.
Pilates Prop
Combines Pilates Mat exercise, which focuses on the deep abdominals, pelvic
floor, spinal muscles, breathing and flexibility, with use of Bender
Balls, stability balls and other props to support the spine while challenging,
lengthening and balancing your muscles.
Pilates Express: Core & Stretch
Develop more complete core strength and flexibility. We emphasize not only the "global" abdominal and low back muscles but also the smaller, "local" paraspinal and deep core muscles. We blend supportive Pilates exercise with spinal therapy techniques and level specific intensities. We incorporate head-to-toe stretching, leaving you feeling light and renewed. This class will help you improve muscular balance, function and posture, reduce spinal pain, prevent spinal and orthopedic injury, relieve tension and feel renewed in just 30 minutes.
Total Body Conditioning
A total body workout combining cardio intervals with strength training. Cardio intervals are progressive -- we help you make the combination simpler or more challenging. Strength training will include bodyweight, free weights, kettlebells, elastic tubing, stability balls, resistance bands and other equipment.
Zumba®
A Latin inspired fitness class that fuses easy-to-follow dance moves
with Latin and International music for a dynamic workout. You will
easily master Zumba® and achieve a unique blend of cardio training and
muscle toning. Come join the party, move your body and have fun! Zumba® classes are taught by Certified Zumba® Instructors -- Zumba® is a registered trademark of Zumba Fitness, LLC.
Muay Thai Kickboxing and Self Defense
FightWise at FitnessWise emphasizes total body fitness. Experienced martial artists will teach you to integrate the techniques of Muay Thai, Boxing, Kickboxing and Grappling (including Jujitsu and Thai Self Defense) into an effective way to fend off an attacker. Each class will challenge your cardiorespiratory system, your strength and your flexibility, helping you to improve your fitness while learning valuable self-defense striking skills. Regular students will achieve ranks by levels, as a sign of the student's progress.
