FitnessWise COVID-19 Update 5/8/2020

Dear FitnessWise Family,

We hope that we all can see the end of the tunnel soon.  And we plan to continue to light your path along the way.

Here are some updates and answers to questions you may have:

THANK YOU!

We would like to begin this update by saying THANK YOU to all of our members and clients who have continued to use our Virtual Services (Training and Memberships) over the past seven weeks.  We are thankful that we are able to continue to help improve people's lives.  Whether we are helping to boost your immune system, lung function, and overall fitness, or if we are just someone to talk to besides the people that you are sheltering in place with, we are grateful.

WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING AT FITNESSWISE?

While you are away from our facility, we are making sure that we are prepared for when we can re-open.  Our cleaning service still comes in once per week to do light cleaning and disinfecting.  One of our Team Members also stops in during the week to make sure that the equipment stays dust free and fully operational.  We are also keeping the plants alive:-)
As you may have seen on FaceBook Live, we are using the gym to shoot some videos.  We are sure to clean anything that we use or touch while in our facility.

WHEN WILL WE RE-OPEN?

Of course, the answer to that question depends on when the Governor's Office deems that it is safe to do so.  Being that we are a small facility without a lot of people working out on top of each other, we are hoping to be able to re-open in Phase 1 or Phase 2 of Maryland's Roadmap to Recovery plan.  I have been in direct communication with the Maryland Department of Commerce's Small Business/Personal Services Task Force, and they are considering small gyms separate from larger facilities.
With that said, we are hoping to open in June.

WHAT WILL BE THE "NEW NORMAL" WHEN WE DO RE-OPEN?

This is something that our Team is discussing weekly as we prepare to welcome you back.  There are certain policies and procedures that will most likely be mandated by the County or State.  And there are other policies that FitnessWise will be instituting to protect your health.  Plan on wearing appropriate face covering while in our facility.  We have already received our first order of masks and gloves.  And of course, there will be plenty of reminders on proper hygiene and cleaning procedures.  Anyone coming in for a self-workout will definitely need to schedule ahead of time to ensure that we maintain numbers that allow for proper social distancing.  We will also be changing some of our scheduling to ensure social distance and allow for time to clean equipment between sessions.

DO YOU HAVE TO COME BACK TO THE GYM?

When the stay-at-home order is lifted, we anticipate that some of you will want to continue to do Virtual One-to-One Sessions.  Virtual Sessions will be offered from here on out.  If you do not feel comfortable coming to the gym, you can still do Virtual Sessions and Membership.  Additionally, if there is a "second wave" or resurgence of COVID-19 that requires us to close again in the future, we know what to do.  Virtual Sessions will also come in handy for snow closures, school closures, when you travel, etc.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about our re-opening.  If there are things that will make you feel more comfortable about coming back to the gym, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
Also, when this first started, we had two goals: 1) to help our clients come out of this stronger and healthier than when it first started, and 2) to come out of this stronger as a business.  We accomplish this second goal by being able to work with more people and help them improve their health and fitness in the same way that we have helped you.  So please let your friends and family know about the services that we offer, and that we are a small gym that will be safe and ready when Maryland re-opens.

In Health,

The FitnessWise Team
Sandy, Lori, and Okinyi
